Here it is Wednesday evening already.  Where oh where has the first part of the week gone?

Well to start on Monday I had an appointment to see my doctor about a lump on my cheek.  It turned out to be an infected sebaceous cyst.  He froze the area and then made a small incision and squeezed out most of the cyst and infection.  The nurse came in and wrapped a bandage completely around my head.  Needless to say when I got home it was off bandage and a couple of band-aids put on.  Then it was off to Costco to get the antibiotics that he had prescribed. It was off to the hash run in the evening and you can read all about it under the hash menu.

Remembrance Day Tuesday it was out to the old navy training base HMCS Gloucester.  It was a nice quiet service with a lot less of a crowd than the reported 50,000 plus at the War Memorial.  The Greely Legion organized the event and served up a light lunch after the ceremonies.  Last year it was cold and raining and the service was hurriedly moved indoors.  This year it was bright and sunny but the Legion must have decided on not taking any chances because everything was set up in the old gym.  It is sad to see how the area has fallen into dis-repair but it is going back to nature which is also a good thing.  Sad in that all the old memories are slowly being erased but nature is taking over.

Wednesday was the usual Old FARTS lunch at the Vanier Legion.  Today’s culinary delight was a beef stew filled with lots of potatoes, beef and carrots.  Rather than the thick gravy that I am used to at home this was a little thinner.  Never-the-less there was more than I could finish for lunch.  In the evening it was back to the doctor to have another look at the work he had done on Monday.  He cleaned it up again and said that he would make an appointment with a plastic surgeon to get all of it o
